Gernsback regularly invited his readers to become involved in making his magazines successful. His Science Fiction League (1930's) was famously one of the precursors to, and may have been instrumental in the organization of, science fiction fandom as we have it today. Long before then, he was inviting some people to be corresponding reporters and photographers for SCIENCE AND INVENTION. Here's the card that belonged to scientist, and inventor with numerous patents, Lewis J. Schwanke. (Image courtesy of his granddaughter, Dr. Ann Boyer.) We're actively searching for further information on this program, which has not been documented before.
