Completing the great masonry dam of the New Croton Reservoir. The portion of the dam here shown was originally to have been built of earth with a central core-wall. It is now for greater safety being built of masonry. The steel erecting towers are being built into the structure as it rises in height. View along the crest of the Croton Masonry Dam, showing the spillway in the foreground. Height of crest of dam above foundation, 297 feet.
