Probable life appearance of the allosaurus. A carnivorous dinosaur. The creature is shown here feeding on the remains of a brontosaurus. Allosaurus was a flesh-eating dinosaur that preyed upon the larger vegetarian dinosaurs. Thus the great unwieldy brontosaurus, seventy feet long, was exteriminated by the smaller and more active allosaurus.
