INLAND PRINTER may have been the first American magazine to use a different painted cover illustration on every issue. In any case, its early association with artist, designer, and typographer Will H. Bradley helped start the Art Nouveau period in America. The magazine was an extremely important influence in popularizing Art Nouveau, and a general improvement in the artistic quality and design of printed materials in the United States, beginning in the 1890's. Our Profile page for INLAND PRINTER is just one level above a stub, but points to some useful resources.
