20 July 2024: Added a 1910 ad for MOTOR PRINT magazine. Our new policy is to put such an ad in both the Ads section for Magazines, and in the section for the Magazine itself. In the infinite concourse of time we'll go back and do the same for all the other ads for magazines as well.

22 November 2023: Added sixteen ads from the 1886 issues of LIFE, the Humor Magazine whose covers we just put online. Ads for Women's Fashions (tailoring, six ads), Men's Shaving (two ads), a Camera Store, Houghton Mifflin books, Perrier Jouet Champagne, Ladies' Shoe Blacking, Printing Services (two ads), Salad Dressing, and a Health Food essence.
19 November 2023: Added twenty-four 1886 covers from LIFE, the Humor Magazine, scanned from a volume lent by Tom Harris. This includes almost all the covers from the second half of the year. Humor has changed in the last hundred and forty years, but some of these jokes were already old then, and even older now.
28 October 2023: Added a new Section for ads for Newspapers (not the ads in newspapers) and started it off with twenty ads from the January, 1930 Auto Show issue of MOTOR.
30 January 2023: Added twelve more 1930 trade ads for Automotive Parts and Accessories, from the Auto Show issue of MOTOR. These include ads for Valves, License Plate Frames, Indicator Lights, Shock Absorbers, and a myriad of Parts Services and Materials.

7 December 2022: Added thirteen more 1930 trade ads for Automotive Parts and Accessories, from the Auto Show issue of MOTOR. These include ads for Horns, Oil Filters, Gears, Chains, Carburetors, Gauges, and Gaskets.
3 December 2022: Added fifteen assorted 1930-47 pulps: five SPEED/SPICYs, three Shudder, two General Fiction, four Western, and one Romance. Four new titles: SPEED WESTERN, SPEED MYSTERY, TEXAS RANGERS, and WESTERN ACTION. Same source as for yesterday.
2 December 2022: Added fourteen 1933-50 Crime and Detective Pulps. These include four covers from THRILLING DETECTIVE (new section), two from DETECTIVE FICTION WEEKLY, and one from DETECTIVE STORY. The other seven are from a Variety of Titles in the field. They're all derived (somewhat cleaned up, but not fully restored) from the current eBay sales items of seller MNpickers.

1 November 2022: Added eight 1906 (early!) issues of ALL-STORY, one of the first general-fiction pulp magazines. These came originally from the Flickr pages of well-known collector Ufikus, who managed over a period of years to acquire them in spite of living in Czechia. He was always ready to help people learn about pulps and fiction papers, and his unexpected death from effects of COVID19 is just one more tragedy we can lay at the door of the pandemic. We've done some Photoshop work to make them look even better. More to come.

19 September 2022: Added ten 1930 trade ads for automobiles. These are from the Trade Magazine MOTOR, the January, 1930 issue which features the annual Auto Show for the industry. Auto companies and dealers and distributors come together to see what the future will bring, and everyone tries to sell everyone else on how important their products and services are. Thanks to Tom Harris for the loan of this volume, which is large format and runs nearly 400 pages. See ads for 1930 cars by Cord, Gardner, Graham-Paige, Marmon, Mercedes, Nash, Packard, Peerless, Pierce-Arrow, and Willys-Overland. Recall that these are aimed at industry figures, not the person in the street, Average Car-Buyer. Also added one ad for Stewart Trucks, and an image of the cover for the issue these all came from.
16 September 2022: We updated the display system software to the latest release of Piwigo and changed the display layout and the features presented. Do you like the changes? 15 August 2022: We just picked up a large number of cover images from the nineteenth-century humor magazines JUDGE and PUCK. These all require some restoration work, so it will take a while. Here is the first batch, twenty 1881-1908 covers from JUDGE. See if you can figure out what the political cartoon covers are talking about. Did you take American History in high school?
14 August 2022: Let's get back to color covers for a while. Here are seven 1914-20 covers from the rare pulp magazine ALL-STORY, and six 1932-3 covers from OUTDOOR LIFE. All from the past and current listings of eBay seller departedbooks. The OUTDOOR LIFE covers cleaned up well. The ALL-STORY covers, however, mostly have defects which can't easily be restored, though we have done a partial restoration on all of them.

19 April 2018: Added twelve 1929-36 covers from COUNTRY GENTLEMAN, scanned for us by jess at daysoffuturepast Added a new Advertisements section on "Social Interaction" and started it with a florist's ad Charles Perrien sent us a while ago. While going over some more old submissions from Charles, we set up a new section for SPICY MYSTERY in the Spicy Pulps section, and put in the first issue, as well as single issues of BEDTIME STORIES and SAUCY MOVIE TALES.
